“Time is fleeting and the task before us is enormous. There are millions living in darkness and many more starved for the life changing word of God. I pray that my songs will uplift not just the unbeliever but also revive the believer. Jesus’s promise of abundant life must be evidenced in the life of his followers, especially in our nation. We must pledge to treat ourselves with the dignity and importance that God gave us when He sent His only begotten son to die on the cross in our place. As the writer of Hebrews says in Hebrew 5:13,14 “for everyone who partakes of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.”
We need to guard ourselves from the corrupted values of a wicked and perverse age. When God’s people stop compromising they are stepping into the realm of miracles and impossibilities. As we read in 2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” When God’s people enter the secret place and demonstrate through their lives they can change the world.
We must reveal God’s grace and love to a world that is weary from carrying burdens that are far too heavy to carry. Our savior has promised rest to all who are weary and it is our responsibility to lead them to Him. Philip Yancey writes in his book “What’s so amazing about grace,” that the one thing that distinguishes Christianity from all other religions is “grace.” As bitterness and unforgiveness abounds let us give out the sweet fragrance of love and forgiveness.”
